TAI YUEN Women's Basketball Team
Established in January 1973
The Tai Yuen Textile Women's Basketball Team was established in January 1973, under the leadership of former Tai Yuen Textile Chair, Vivian Wu Yen. Currently competing in the Women's Super Basketball League (WSBL), it is recognized as one of the league's teams. The junior team of the Tai Yuen Textile Women's Basketball Team is affiliated with Hujiang Senior High School and is also known as “Little Tai Yuen”.
Madam Vivian Wu Yen, former Chair of Tai Yuen Textile, graduated from Shanghai Ginling Girls' High School and St. John's University. In her youth, she was a member of the Ginling Girls' High School basketball team. Alongside her husband, Mr. Tjing Ling Yen, they not only achieved success in entrepreneurship but also dedicated significant efforts to promote basketball in Taiwan. After the establishment of Tai Yuen Textile, witnessing the decline of the Combined Logistics Command “Jhong Cin” women's basketball team in 1973, they courageously took over the entire team, renaming it Tai Yuen Textile, and continue to uphold this legacy.
